Lateef further remanded

Former Suva Lawyer Shazran Lateef has been further remanded by the Suva Magistrates Court.

Lateef has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

He was arrested on Monday afternoon by a team from Totogo Police Station as they saw him acting in a suspicious manner while driving along Milverton Road.

It is alleged that Lateef had in his possession 4.6 grams of marijuana and 1.8 grams of cocaine.

This is the sixth time he has been arrested and charged for being in possession of illicit drugs.

The case will be recalled next Monday for bail ruling.
