Labasa fire victim passes away

A 45-year-old grandmother, who was severely burnt in a fire in Tuatua, Labasa earlier this week, passed away last night.

The incident happened on Monday and the woman has since been admitted at the Labasa Hospital.

A second victim, a child remains in a critical condition and has been transferred to Suva’s CWM Hospital.

The fire claimed the life of a five- year old boy.

The family was sleeping when the fire broke out at around 3am.

The National Fire Authority is still trying to ascertain the cause of the fire.
