Two Namalata farmers in Kadavu were this afternoon sentenced to three years for unlawful cultivating and in possession of illicit drugs.

Paula Dabea 32 and Osevati Leva both pleaded guilty to the charge.

On February 4 police uprooted 133 plants of marijuana from their farms.

They appeared before magistrate Janakkar Bandarra.
