Heavy rain has led to flooding in the western division with Rakiraki town closed off because of the downpour.

Weather forecaster ‘Nadraki’ is reporting a heavy rain warning has been issued for the west and the north, and a Flood Warning is now current for the Rakiraki River.

FBC News understands that flash flooding in Rakiraki has closed off the Naqoro flats and FSC road leading into the town.
