Traditional healers of cancer are in the way of medical experts who are trying to manage the disease in the country.

This is according to CWM’s General Surgeon Dr. Ilaitia Delasau.

He says while they are aware of the work done by traditional healers, the only way to manage cancer is through surgery.

“It’s important that traditional healers understand that we are trained to cure cancer by removing that abnormal cell”

Dr. Delasau says many a time people visit traditional healers without first seeking medical attention.

He adds that when people later realize that their health continues to deteriorate, only then do they choose to seek medical assistance.

The surgeon says by this time in most cases, it’s too late to address the complications caused by the patient’s late presentation.

Dr. Delasau reiterates that early presentation, especially in cancer cases, can help with the recovery and managing of the disease.
