Health Officials to be accompanied by police and military

Health Officials will now be accompanied by police and military officers during their duties.

This after a Health Inspector was assaulted over the weekend while he was investigating a case at a Hotel in Nadi.

It is alleged the Inspector was trying to confiscate alcohol from the hotel when the incident happened.

Health Ministry spokesperson Peni Namotu has warned people to refrain from doing such acts.

“We would like to advise people that are being investigated, to comply with the work being carried out by our Health Inspectors. Anyone going against them is at risk of facing legal action if they are found to be ignorant of the law.”

The alleged offender is now in police custody
