Groenewald hands over office to Brigadier General Qiliho

Outgoing Police Commissioner Ben Groenewald has handed over office to Acting Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho at the Fiji Police Force Headquarters in Laucala Beach, Suva this morning.

Brigadier General Qiliho says he was happy with the handing over process and adds he is happy with the discussions held with Groenewald.

A farewell morning tea was also hosted by Qiliho and senior officers to thank the outgoing Police Commissioner for his time in office.

In his parting words, Groenewald called on the senior officers to support the Acting Commissioner.

He says he has left office today without any hard feelings against anyone.

Groenewald thanked the force for the 18 months he’s had saying all differences were for the betterment of the organisation.

Brigadier General Qiliho will have a series of briefings throughout the week and is expected to make futher comments on his plans for the organisation later in the week.
