French government to reinstate visa service

October 19, 2019 1:00 pm

The French government will reinstate its consular services in Fiji from next month.

French Ambassador to Fiji, Jean – Francois Fitou says after a lapse of more than two years, the French government will be able to reopen their visa service in November.

“We’ll have the possibility to deliver visas for France to the Fijian people as it were before, not in the Embassy itself but as a private contractor doing that under the supervision of the French authority.  So starting mid-November, say for my birthday, we will reestablish visa services to the Fijian people.”

Prior to this Fijians wishing to travel to France would have to travel to Vanuatu, Australia or New Zealand to apply for a visa.
