FRCS launches new tax information system

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service today launched a new Tax Information System in Suva.

Chief Executive, Visvanath Das, says they are now looking into electronic filing, electronic payments and self-assessment.

He says the new system will allow more efficiency and transparency and encourage voluntary compliance.

“What the new system provides for us is certainly a very efficient processing, filing, lodgement, debt collection and everything as well as it will have capability to interface with financial institutions so we are really looking at our tax payers can link their bank accounts to our system and make online payments.”

The Information System is a two year project in partnership a British company Invenio Business Solutions and will be implemented soon.
