Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority General Manager Tax – Visvanath Das is now the acting Chief Executive.
Das takes over from Jitoko Tikolevu who is leaving to join the Diplomatic corp as Fiji’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Das joined the Authority in 1997 as an Auditor, and rose through the ranks reaching the post of General Manager Taxation in April this year.
FRCA Board Chairman Ajith Kodagoda says Das has demonstrated his strong leadership skills when he was appointed at Executive Management level as National Manager Debt Management Services in 2012.
One of the key achievements since he took over leadership in this area was the improvements in FRCA’s debt recovery, averaging 32% above annual forecast over the past three years.
Das is expected to act in the position until a substantive appointment is made.
