Flood alert remains in force coupled with a strong wind warning

On the weather front, a flood alert remains in force for the low lying areas and downstream of Waimanu Stations as well as areas adjacent to Nabukaluka station and downstream of Nabukaluka river.

This is coupled with a strong wind warning in force for all land areas for Fiji. Tropical Depression 04F remains to the far west of Fiji, associated cloud and showers continue to affect the country.

A flood warning remains in force for a number of low lying areas that includes small streams adjacent to and downstream of Rakiraki town, low lying areas and areas adjacent to Wailotua and Nayavu station and areas downstream of Wainibuka river, low lying areas and small streams for Vanua Levu and Central and Eastern Division, low lying areas and areas adjacent to Rewa bridge station and downstream of Nausori town.

For those in living in these areas, please take every precaution to move to higher safer ground. High tide is scheduled for 11.40am.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Office is advising the public that the Nausori Hospital has been temporarily relocated to Vunivivi Methodist Church Hall as a precaution of flooding until further notice.

Only emergency outpatients are currently being treated at the Vunivivi Methodist Church Hall while maternity cases are being transferred to Suva.

For all other health services, the public is advised to visit Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva or any other nearby health facility.
