Around 450 sea cucumbers as well as undersized fish and crabs were confiscated by the Fisheries Ministry over the weekend.
These were sold at various municipal markets, fish outlets and roadside stalls.
A total of 29 undersized crabs were confiscated in the West while 50 undersized crabs were confiscated in the Central Division.
Fishermen, middlemen and vendors were reminded again of the ban still in place for sea cucumbers.
All the confiscated commodities were properly documented and the crabs were released back into the sea.
Meanwhile, the Ministry officials also informed the fishermen and vendors about the upcoming Kawakawa and Donu seasonal ban.
The ban will come into effect this Saturday.
