Fijians can vote from 7.30am to 6pm on Election Day

Fijians will be able to vote from 7.30am to 6pm on Election Day which is the 14th of next month.

Electoral Commission Chair Suresh Chandra says on election night, provisional results will be progressively released from 6pm.

“We are very optimistic that this year’s election will set new benchmarks, this can only be possible if voters exercise their democratic right and come out to vote.”

Chandra says that voter registration will close at 6 tonight.

He says the writ is to be returned on the 28th of November, 2018.

Meanwhile, eight political partied have registered for this year’s general election which are FijiFirst Party, SODELPA, National Federation Party, People’s Democratic Party, Fiji Labor Party, Unity Party, Hope Party and Freedom Alliance Party.
