Fiji Roads Authority rejects FTUC’s permit

May 2, 2019 4:52 pm

The Fiji Trades Union Congress application for a permit to march in Nadi on Saturday has been rejected.

Fiji Roads Authority General Manager Delivery West Kamal Prasad says the permit has been rejected as the time, route and size of the march is likely to interrupt the safe and orderly movement of traffic in the vicinity.

Prasad says the planned size of the march will require a concerted effort from the enforcement agencies which he believes will not be possible as a significant number of security personnel are committed with the 52nd ADB meeting.

The application of the permit was received on the 24th of last month.
