Fiji hosts regional meetings

Fiji will be hosting two important regional meetings in Nadi this week.

A special Melanesian Spearhead Group meeting will convene at the Sheraton Denarau tomorrow.

It ends on Wednesday.

The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss the outcomes of the High Level Ministerial Mission to New Caledonia last week and decolonization issues relating to FLNKS.

The 3rd Engaging with the Pacific Meeting will convene on Thursday and ends on Friday at the Westin Denarau.

Over 20 representatives – including presidents, prime ministers, ministers and foreign diplomats have confirmed their participation.

The theme for this year’s meeting is Strengthening Partnerships amongst Pacific Small Islands Developing States.”

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will chair the meeting.
