Fiji at INTERPOL General Assembly

The Commissioner of Police Major General Ben Groenewald is leading the Fiji Delegation to the 84th INTERPOL General Assembly in Kigali City, Rwanda.

The annual summit attended by over 700 delegates, provides a forum for national police chiefs, heads of national counter terrorism and international experts to identify emerging issues in transnational crime and terrorism environment.

Milestones achieved under this engagement are the recognition of Fiji’s role in regional policing with INTERPOL using Fiji as its point of training delivery.

Other achievements include increased information sharing under the INTERPOL secure modes of communication and facilitation of arrests and extradition of international fugitives.

Chief Intelligence and Investigation Officer ACP Henry Brown and Director International Relations Superintendent of Police Ulaiasi Ravula are accompanying the Commissioner.

The Delegation will return to Fiji on November 8th.
