The Fijian Elections office has developed electoral related materials to build capacity in the lead up to the 2018 general elections.
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem unveiled a Candidates and Media handbook, a Provisional Voter and Polling Venue List in Suva yesterday.
Saneem says these booklets will be translated into Hindi and the i-Taukei language as well.
”These two important documents provide the relevant audience with an inside to the laws surrounding that particular audience, the rights, responsibility and restrictions.”
He adds in 2014, The Fijian Elections office had developed the candidate booklet through the Fiji National University unfortunate it wasn’t released on time to be widely circulated, but they are fortunate with time to complete the book in time.
In addition to these materials, the FEO will also be conducting a workshop with media practitioners next month.
