A thirty-three-year-old man of Lautoka has been sentenced to 8 years 11 months imprisonment for raping a woman in January 2014.

Eroni Cevamaca lured the victim to his house on the pretext of drinking, where he assaulted and raped her.

The court found Cevamaca had abused the trust of the victim and had used violence against her.

He must serve a minimum of 7 years behind bars before parole.
