India will continue helping in the education sector: Sapkal

The government of India will continue providing assistance in the education sector in the coming years.

India’s High Commissioner to Fiji, Vishvas Sapkal says education is a tool that benefits every country, hence, there is a need for people to be well educated.

Sapkal says 13 Fijians are currently in India enrolled in the various colleges.

“There are 35 scholarships which are long term training scholarships for graduation, post-graduation as well as doctorate courses in India. At present there are 13 Fijian studying in India. Some are doing aeronautical engineering, others are doing electrical engineering, PHD in English, PHD in Hindi while some are doing masters in engineering.”

Sapkal says this is also strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
