DPP asks for 7 days to consider Lateef’s file

Prominent Suva lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef who is facing drug and theft related charges appeared in the Suva Magistrates court this morning.

Lateef is charged with one count of being in possession of illicit drugs following an arrested through a drug raid in September last year.

He’s alleged to have been in possession of methamphetamine.

The State lawyer informed the court that they received a memo from police Prosecutor for it to consider the file, seven days have been granted.

Lateef is also charged with two counts of theft.

It is alleged that during a raid at his residence on March 23rd stolen mobile phones and the tablets were discovered by police.

For this matter Police Prosecutor also asked for seven days.

The matter has been adjourned to next Thursday.
