Dentists to meet for conference and AGM in Nadi

The Fiji Dental Association will be holding its 42nd Annual Conference and AGM this weekend in Nadi.

Fiji Dental Association Vice President Dr Leenu Maimanuku says the conference will attract dentists from around the country along with a number of national and international dental suppliers.

Dr Maimanuku says that among the registered participants are a 20 people delegation from New Zealand and 25 dental professionals from neighboring Pacific Island nations.

She that they will strongly advocate that oral health needs to be integrated into all national action taken to prevent and control NCD’s.

According to Dr Maimanuku oral health problems are a major national concern leading to pain and suffering in the population and much needs to be done to improve access to good oral health care in the country by all of Fiji’s population.

The speakers at the conference will be updating participants on oral health advances in various areas of dentistry and aiding in equipping participants with new knowledge and skills in provision of Root Canal Treatment, involvement in identification of Oral Cancer and management of dental infections.
