Jaanvi died in July last year after allegedly being attacked outside the flat she shared with her mother.

The initial police investigation had revealed that she was hanging clothes outside when the landlord heard her screaming.

Upon enquiring, the landlord found her lying by the door with stab wounds on her body at around 8pm.

Jaanvi was alone at home at the time as her mother had not returned from work.

Meanwhile, a police investigation continues into the death of a 49-year-old farmer in Qelemumu, Labasa earlier this month.

Police have classified the case as murder.

The deceased was found motionless outside his home on the 13th of February.

A man believed to be in his 20s was questioned about the incident but no charges were laid.
