Sex predator and Jezreel Lion of Judah church leader Jone Cokanauto has appealed his conviction of twenty years imprisonment by Suva High court.

The 55-year-old formed a church in Taveuni and prayed for the sick at the age of thirty-eight.

Cokanauto was convicted of ten counts of sexual offenses which includes five counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and four counts of indecent assault.

He raped four women of his church congregation from 2002 to 2015.

Cokanauto used John chapter 4 from the bible to misinterpret the holy water to his sperm.

He managed to convince young vulnerable girls and raped his first victim at the age of forty.

Today, his lawyer informed the court that a bail pending appeal was filed yesterday.

The Justice has given defense seven days to serve DPP the application and 14 days to files submission on leave and bail.

The prosecution has been given 21 days to respond.

The Justice said once all documents are filed then the matter will be listed before a single Justice of appeal.
