After round three of Homes Care and Farms Care initiative investigation – the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has 10 remaining cases before the court.

Chief Executive, Joel Abraham says FCCC is pushing for the matters to be called early.

Abraham says this should serve as clear warning to other traders who are thinking of engaging in unfair business practices.

“We are looking at the court imposing further penalties .these are high penalties which are meant to serve as a deterrent for businesses who intend to indulge in unfair businesses practices.”

Abraham says just last month a prominent hardware trader was fined $10,000 for failing to comply with the provisions of the FCCC Act 2010.

The trader was charged with two separate counts.
