The Government is making preparations to host Wu Bangguo as he visits the country later this month.

As Chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress, Wu’s visit symbolizes the growing relations between Fiji and China.

Leading a delegation of other senior government officials, Wu will meet the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and other government officials.

It is expected that this visit will result in closer cooperation in international and regional affairs and provide a platform for more investment and trade.

Wu arrives in the country on the 20th of September and will be accorded a traditional and formal ceremony of welcome.
