A 27-year-old student of Laucala who pleaded guilty to stealing one number 24 chicken at MHCC Supermarket in Suva has been told to surrender his passport.

John Nanau is charged with two counts of theft. He also stole 14 ladies Bula tops from the same supermarket worth more than $349 dollars.

He was sentenced to two months imprisonment suspended for one year.

The value of the stolen chicken was $28.95.
