Carpenter remanded in custody for alleged rape

A father of two of Nasinu was remanded by the Nasinu Magistrates Court yesterday, for allegedly raping his wife in front of his children.

The man is charged with one count of rape and two counts of grievous harm.

It’s alleged that the offence occurred on the 14th of this month when the accused’s wife was making pancakes.

It’s alleged the man was angry when the wife told him to wait as she was busy cooking.

The alleged offence occurred after the man punched his wife and later dragged her to the sitting room.

Prosecution objected to bail as the alleged offence was indictable.

The case will be recalled on the 1st of next month.
