Businessman to face court for allegedly raping employee

A 58-year-old businessman will be produced at the Nadi Magistrate Court this afternoon for allegedly raping a woman.

It is alleged that the accused raped his 24-year-old employee on two different occasion between last year December and January this year.

In drug cases, a 47-year-old man is in police custody after police officers conducted a raid at his residence in Veiraisi settlement yesterday afternoon.

Police found 226 sachets of dried leaves, parcel containing a branch of dried leaves wrapped in aluminum foil and 1 parcel wrapped in newspaper all believed to be marijuana.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man of Nasekula village, Macuata has been detained.

It is alleged that the suspect was found in possession of loose dried leaves rolled in a paper suspected to be marijuana.

In another case in Savusavu, a 26-year-old man of Sasa Village was taken into custody last night after he was allegedly found in possession of loose dried leaves believe to be marijuana.

The dried leaves were sealed inside a clear bean plastic.

All drugs have been sent for analysis as investigations continue.
