The twenty-two-year-old mother who was admitted at the Lautoka Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit with her one month old baby, has been discharged.

It is alleged the mother and her baby were assaulted over the weekend.

The suspect who is the father of the child is in custody and will be questioned by Police today.

It is alleged suspect came home drunk, started an argument and assaulted his wife.

In the process the suspect allegedly injured their one month old baby, who is still admitted in the hospital.

The alleged offense took place in Tavua.
