Many drivers are still not adhering to road rules while driving and it has resulted in fatalities around the country.

Police Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra told FBC News despite numerous reminders, some drivers continue to drink and drive, over speed and drive dangerously.

This is after a 57-year-old man of Solevu Village of Malolo Island died in a road accident along Denarau road in Nadi yesterday.

Nadi Police confirmed that the driver died on the spot before he was rushed to the Nadi Hospital.

Mishra is advising drivers to drive carefully and follow road rules this festive season as many tend to forget about their safety around this time of the year.
