The Fiji Roads Authority will re-seal 140 kilometers of road network later this year.

Assistant Minister for Transport and Infrastructure – Vijay Nath – told Parliament yesterday nine thousand kilometers of rural roads are unsealed.

Nath says the government is also focusing on reconstructing roads in maritime and outer islands.

“People who live in this area have right to responsible access to transportation and FRA in consultation with the Commissioners is effectively working together, in bringing this road network to an acceptable standard.”

So far, the FRA has sealed 260 km of road throughout the country.
