Telecommunications and media sector top SPSE performance

The telecommunications and media sector performed extremely well last month on the South Pacific Stock Exchange.

In its monthly trading report, the sector represented 48.41 % of the total market value.

This is followed by the manufacturers and wholesalers sector which has 18% occupancy.

The third largest contributor to market capitalisation is represented by the investment sector, which tallied at 17.89%.

The overall market performance has also picked up considering the election period.

The report reveals the market value recorded a growth of 2.85% which has grown by 61.87% compared to the November 2017 period.

The monthly trends also depicts a 4.11% average growth in market value.

The SPSE’s growing performance over the years has also attracted regional stock markets.

SPSE Chief Executive, Krishika Narayan and Chair, Nur Bano Ali were invited by the New Zealand Stock Exchange.

The two parties discussed possible collaboration areas for the development and further growth of the two exchanges.

This has been a successful visit by both parties who are now working closely to enter into a MOU.
