The Fiji cricket team have a chance to play in the 2014 Twenty20 World Cup in Dubai if they manage to win the Asia Pacific qualifiers in New Zealand in February next year.

Newly appointed coach Joeli Mateyawa believes that Fiji can make it to the 2014 World Cup.

He says the best players have been selected for the qualifiers.

The team that has been selected are made up of very good athletes. They are good bowlers, good batsman, good all-rounders. So this is a good team and I believe we can do it.

Cricket Fiji’s Twenty-20 competition starts from this weekend and thius is being eyed as the build-up for the qualifiers.

After the New Zealand qualifiers the team will play in the division seven World Cup in Ghana.
