MOKOSOI CLUB WEIGHTLIFTERS DURING THE NATIONAL TRIAL AT THE RABUKA GYM ON SATURDAY

Weightlifting Fiji is continuing its path in finding new talent in representing Fiji at international meets.

Two new clubs in Serua, Dogowale, and Mokosoi were part of the latest trials and will be instrumental in providing raw talent for the sport.

Fiji Weightlifting Coach, Henry Elder says the two new clubs set up in Serua continues to produce more young lifters – most of who can be developed for international competitions.

“So these two clubs gradually overtime had a lot of interest amongst the villagers and that’s why we see a lot of people and the turnout today. I know over the next few weeks interest will continue and there will be a lot more in numbers who will turn up for the next trials.”

The next weightlifting trials will be held at the end of next month at the Rabuka Gym in Suva.
