October 1, 2018 12:21 am

Ba football veterans Malakai Tiwa and Avinesh Swamy will guide the side in the Courts Inter District Championship which kicks off at ANZ Stadium on Friday.

Ba team manager Arvin Singh says there are more than thirty players in camp and it has been tough selecting the best for the IDC.

He says despite regular players like Lasenia Raura, Samuela Nabenia and Meli Codro joining other districts, the other players have been showing full commitment towards the training.

“We have thirty good players in camp and all of them are showing training very hard to get into the final team. Looking at their commitment towards training it will be very tough to name the final 22 member squad for the tournament.”

Ba has won the IDC title 24 times with the latest one being in 2015 when they defeated Nadi 2-nil at Govind Park.

The IDC kicks off on Friday where Rewa plays Tavua at 1.30pm, Labasa faces Nasinu at 3.30pm, Suva meets Nadi at 6pm and Lautoka will battle Ba in the last match of day one at 8pm.
