Haifa Work Vakaloloma was crowned Miss Fiji at the Bodybuilding and Fitness Mr and Miss Fiji competition at the Holiday Inn yesterday.

The 17 year old overcame a bout of sickness to claim the title ahead of two other female competitors.

“I’ve been training so hard for this. But then I got sick for a couple of weeks and I haven’t been training at all, so the win came as a surprise to me.”

Vakaloloma says she will shift her focus to preparing for the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

Meanwhile Ganesh Maharaj claimed the title in the 65kg category while Vishal Singh won the 75kg category.

Veteran Inoke Ligairi won the 80kg category.
