The Suva Weightlifting Club is preparing its members to try out for the national team to compete in the Oceania Weightlifting Championship next year.

The team has been training at the National Fitness Centre under the guidance of renowned fitness guru, Henry Elder, to push for selection into the Fiji Team.

“We have 12 lifters training and out of this group, we will try to qualify five to seven for the Oceania Championships next year.”

The Oceania Weightlifting Championship is a qualifying event for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
