Fiji hockey could see more international games come their way following next week’s Oceania Pacific Cup and World League tournament.
Oceania hockey tournament organiser, Hanisi Visanti says the buck doesn’t stop for Fiji after these tournaments as International Hockey Federation president Leandro Negre has partnerships with South American teams in mind.
“Looking at Rio which is a definite possibility, I understand that he would also like to develop hockey in Brazil given that they are the hosts so I believe we will be perhaps playing with a lot of South American teams as well.”
The OPC and World Series begins on Saturday week.
Fiji’s tournament openers will be on Sunday, the men face Papua New Guinea while the women are up against first timers, Vanuatu.
