Fijiana coach Saiasi Fuli made a few positional changes during the Oceania 7s which ended at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

Despite falling short in the final against Australia, Fuli says the team has improved since their last outing at the Glendale 7s in USA last month.

Fuli says there are some positives from the Oceania tournament which they will build on before the Dubai 7s later this month.

‘That was all the work ons from Glendale and the positional changes and the rotation in our squad and it’s good we managed to coach the girls to be brave and mentally tough when it comes to situations like that’.

The Fijiana put up a brave performance against Olympic champions Australia in the Oceania 7s final as they were leading 12 nil at half time.

A stunning second half performance proved to be the difference for Australia winning in the end 24-12.

But the good news out of the Oceania 7s for the Fijiana was their Olympic qualification for the 2020 Games in Japan.
