Australia 7s side hopes to finish in top three in Vegas

The Australia 7s hope to finish in the top three after the Las Vegas and Vancouver tournaments next month.

The side has 47 points and is in the sixth position on the World Rugby series standings.

Coach Tim Walsh says they need to achieve something extra to have any chances of making the top three.

“The top three teams are getting further away so these next two tournaments are critical for the top four. We will try and finish in the top three but that is something we are working and will give a try in the coming weeks.” 

Australia is pooled with Fiji, Wales on Scotland.

Fiji kicks off its campaign against Scotland at 11.22am on Saturday, meets Wales at 2.23pm before playing Australia at 7.52am on Sunday in its last pool match.

The Cup quarters begin at 1.46pm on Sunday, semis at 9.12am next Monday and the Cup final will be played at 12.30pm.
