*Eleven former and current students of Yat Sen Secondary School were given a rousing farewell this morning, as they prepare to depart for Papua New Guinea to compete in the Pacific Games.
The athletes included athletics’ Milika Tuivanuavou, sailing’s Shayne and Torika Brodie, basketball’s Tui Sikivou and table tennis’ Young Jun Park.
School principal, Miriama Naicegucegu says the athletes have made the entire school community proud and they will be cheering them on during the two-week competition.
“To you all, the national reps, Yat Sen Secondary School today stands tall because of your achievement and for your selection to the national team.”
The first batch of Team Fiji athletes will depart for Port Moresby tomorrow with the opening ceremony to be held on Saturday.
