Rewa football coach, Marika Rodu hailed the efforts of his brigade as they won the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants title for the second year in a row.

The Delta Tigers defeated Ba 2-0 in the final yesterday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

The former national rep says the contribution of the national under 20 reps in the side such as Iosefo Verevou, Garish Prasad and Setareki Hughes was a pinnacle in the team’s success.

“We had a lot of challenges coming into this tournament. The under 20 boys gelled in well. We have been good football but I told the boys it’s all about being the best team and holding the trophy at the end of the game.”

Stylish striker, Verevou paid tribute his mother as well as that of team mate Setareki Hughes, who passed away earlier in the year.

“I dedicate this win to Sete’s mum and my mum as well. Without them, we wouldn’t be here; we wouldn’t have achieved this victory.”

Rewa has won the INKK Mobile BOG title for the seventh time since its inception in 1978.
