Prasad resigns from Lautoka

The Lautoka football side has suffered a major setback ahead of the Courts Inter District Championships, which starts on Saturday.

Interim president Sanjay Prasad has stepped down from the position due to personal reasons.

Prasad, was appointed by the Fiji Football Association earlier this year, in place of former president Shalendra Prasad.

Fiji FA chief executive Bob Kumar says Sanjay has been replaced by Lautoka rep, Rajnesh Naicker.

Kumar adds, they will decide on the next course of action after the IDC.

Meanwhile, Kumar has confirmed they will issue a release to Nadi’s Napolioni Qasevakatini, to feature for Suva.

The IDC tournament starts on Saturday, with Labasa playing Suva at home at 2pm, while on the same day, Rewa plays Nadroga at 4pm in Nadi.

Nadi will play newcomers Tailevu Naitasiri at 6pm at home and on Sunday, Lautoka meets Ba at Churchill Park at 3pm.
