Powerlifters are looking forward to their first competition this year next month.

Powerlifting Fiji president Iliesa Irava says they were due to hold their competition in August but they had to move because of Hibiscus.

He says lifters have been training.

According to Irava there is a lot of interest as a lot of debutant lifters will be competing.

He says a lot of high school students have been training.

Irava adds seasoned lifters like Seinimili Turner will also be competing.
