New war challenge

June 14, 2012 1:21 am

The switch to the bole from the much practiced cibi signifies reform in the Fiji Rugby Union says chairman Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga.
Col Tikoitoga says it’s time to do things the right way.
Choreographer Manoa Rasigatale says the cibi has always been a celebration of victory, done after the war is won.
He says the original cibi was written when the Fiji team went to play the All Blacks in 1939.
Rasigatale says changes have been made to the teivovo chant to lay the challenge.
He adds people of Fiji will for the first time get to see a different war challenge which he promises will be hair raising.
The bole will be done by the Flying Fijians tomorrow before kick-off against Scotland.
