The Malolo women’s rugby team have created history by being one of the first women’s team to feature in the Skipper Cup competition next week.
This comes after they defeated Namosi 30-27 in a close encounter at Sigatoka’s Lawaqa Park today.
Despite trailing 15-10 at half time, Malolo scored four unanswered tries to claim victory.
Akanisi Sokoiwasa was a key for Malolo as she scored a hat-trick in the match.
Meanwhile, Suva hammered Nadi 59-14 in another semi-final.
Suva will now meet Malolo in the Skipper Cup final at 11.30pm next Saturday while the Suva under 20 will meet Namosi in the final at 1pm.
Meanwhile, Suva will host Namosi at Suva’s ANZ Stadium today while Nadroga plays Naitasiri at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
Both matches will be played at 3pm.
