The newly Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s captain Sereima Leweniqila will lead the side in the opening round of the 2018/19 Women’s 7s series in Glendale, Colorado this weekend.

Leweniqila takes over from halfback Ana Maria Roqica who did not make the final squad.

Coach Alifereti Doviverata says the side has the advantage going into the first tournament of the series.

“It’s an advantage I think the past Fijiana team other teams will be looking at that but we have a new squad altogether where they will look at our weaknesses and the strength of the team and I’m sure they don’t have any idea of the capability of our players.”

The Fijiana is pooled with France, Canada and Ireland.
The Glendale 7s will be held tomorrow and Sunday.
