The Shop and Save Lautoka football side is happy with taking the underdogs tag in this week’s Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament in Nausori.

The Blues have been preparing well under the guidance of coach Lambert Sarju and are looking forward to the second major tournament of the year.

Team Vice President Abdul Kadar says they know passing through the pool stages won’t be an easy task.

“I think it’s a pool of death even though Tailevu Naitasiri is in our pool. We can’t count them out. They are a good team as all the teams are but yes, Suva and Nadi, they are the champion teams and although we are in the pool of death but we have our game plan and we will come into the tournament as underdogs.”

The westerners take on Tailevu Naitasiri in their first match at Ratu Cakobau Park this Friday at 1pm after which Jedi’s Suva plays Jacks Nadi at 3pm.

At 5.30pm Fulton Hogan Labasa plays Gecko’s Trucking Nadroga while Rewa plays Ba at 7.30pm.
