The Labasa football side proved too strong as it defeated Nasinu 5-1 in its opening match of the Courts Inter District Championship this afternoon at ANZ Stadium.
Vilitati Kautoga and Christopher Wasasala were the stars for the Babasiga Lions – both scoring a brace, while Pita Levaci added one more.
Nasinu’s goal came from Nasoni Mereke in the second spell.
Coach Johan Leewai says they need to improve on their game structure in their remaining games.
“I think we put ourselves in a good platform for tomorrow against Lautoka.
Improvement needs to be done and our midfield area need to be tighten up a bit.”
Meanwhile, Suva meets Nadi at 6pm and Lautoka will battle Ba in the last match of day one at 8pm.
