The first round of the pool stages of the Huawei Ucunipotu 7s has finished at Subrail Park in Labasa.

In pool A, Westerland Natadra beat Somosomo Sharks 15-12 and Cagilaba were thrashed by Kilaka Young Brothers.

In Pool B, Nasagale defeated Eagles 24-0 and St Theresa managed a win over Kabu-kei-nei-loa 7-0.

In Pool C, Faith Generation Brothers were too strong for Natakula beating them 27-0 and Nabua/Koroalau beat Nasaqa 24-5.

In Pool D, the lone Western team Surprise Nadi won their first game over Evergreen 24 -10 and Domoniwai drew 12 all with Wailevu.

The second round of games will resume soon.

The hot weather condition has prompted the organizers to give the teams and officials some break.

$5,000 is up for grabs in this competition.
